Dr Keough finished her undergraduate BSc (biological science) degree in human physiology in 2004 at the University of Pretoria (UP), South Africa. Following that she continued, and completed, her postgraduate studies and obtained her PhD (Anatomy) in 2014 at UP. She started working in the Department of Anatomy at UP in 2005 as a Technical Assistant and was promoted to an Academic post (lecturer) in 2008. In 2017 she was promoted to Senior Lecturer in the Department. Since 2008 she has been teaching all levels of anatomy to various groups of students ranging from undergraduate (medical, dental, radiography, basic medical science) to postgraduate (medical and basic medical science) and has been course co-ordinator for 14 anatomy modules and assisted with 6 modules since 2008. She has extensive experience with both prossection and dissection based teaching of anatomy. She has successfully supervised 16 honours, 7 masters and 1 PhD student. Currently she is supervising, 1 master and 3 PhD students. She has published 16 articles of which 15 are in ISI listed journals, one book chapter and 5 conference proceedings. She has attended several national and international conferences to stay abreast of the newest developments and topics in anatomy. Currently her research interests include Orthopaedic and musculoskeletal anatomy and she has several postgraduate students at UP whom she will continue to supervise till completion, and hope to continue her postgraduate supervision at Khalifa University.
